I went to Montreal and Toronto, Canada in 2011 to visit research groups in universities before applying to schools. On the weekend, I took the opportunity for sightseeing and went for a harbor tour. I talked with a man sitting nearby who told that he is from Iran, studied in France and is working for HP. He told me that student life is tough, but once start working, life is easy (which I strongly disagree at the moment of writing in 2020).

昼前にはボートに乗って湾を一周した。近くに座っていた人と話したところ、イラン出身でフランスで大学を出たそうだ。今はHPで働いていて、デンバーでの会合の後にモントリオール、トロントを訪れているらしい。学生時代は大変だろうが仕事を始めれば人生はシンプルだと語っていた。
